Our Focus on Safety and Fall Cleanup is in High Gear
Keeping safety a priority
In our ongoing commitment to safety awareness, the team at Gerbert & Sons participated in an informative continuing education seminar through Acadia Insurance. This objective of this program is to create an accident-free work environment for both our employees and our clients, with a continued focus on safety culture. This includes continual training and education for management and employees to have a full understanding of work-related hazards and ensure respective safety requirements are established and supported. Our drivers are evaluated for responsible driving habits and validation of proper licensing for each vehicle they operate on the job. Our goal is a workforce with the knowledge and skills to care for each of our client’s property in the safest way possible.
Property checklist as we prepare for winter
While a well-cared-for yard is aesthetically pleasing, the benefits to your property’s health are plentiful. Removing fallen leaves from your lawn allows for continuing sunlight and water evaporation, helping to prevent the growth of fungus and disease. Untended piles of accumulated leaves create an inviting place for animals to settle in, and on your deck or patio offer the perfect climate for damaging mold and mildew to develop. We also check on your planting beds and gardens, removing dead or weak trees, shrubs, and plants to discourage disease and the threat of damage from winter storms.
Our experts will determine which perennials would benefit from pruning at this time, and focus special attention on the care of roses. Once they go dormant, their canes should be properly pruned to prevent wind damage to longer shoots, and their beds should be cleared to remove potential sources of disease. Before the ground freezes we advise a fresh layer of mulch to insulate and protect all of your plantings. Gerbert & Sons will continue to tend to your fall property needs throughout the season to have it neatly tucked in for the winter. As the leaves continue to fall, it is suggested we clear your gutters and downspouts to keep them free-flowing during the cold months ahead. The right preparation now will ensure your landscape is ready to return strong and healthy when spring rolls back around.
Give us a call to ready your property for the ongoing change of seasons.
