Update on Our Remodel Project and Yard Checks for Fall
The beauty of custom design and modern materials
Our remodel focus moves to the deck and patios, checking in on our team’s progress and the special materials used to create this amazing outdoor living space. Surrounding the deck and spa patio level, Barbara Wilson, our Landscape Architect, designed a unique cable railing system with stainless steel posts, complete with a custom 5” wide wood top rail perfect for holding drinks. This type of guard rail system is a low maintenance option to traditional wood or metal pickets, with the advantages of an almost unobstructed view of nature and a clean, modern aesthetic touch. For the upper deck, Gerbert & Sons installed a gorgeous sealed and stained hardwood known as Ipe, an eco-friendly renewable resource harvested from responsibly well-managed forests. In addition to its natural colors and grains, Ipe is much harder and more dense than most woods, making it incredibly durable and naturally resistant to rot and decay. For the flooring of the lower patio, we laid elegant porcelain tiles, manufactured to perform well under all weather conditions. These beautiful tiles are versatile, durable, easy to care for, and slip resistant – making them the perfect choice to complement this amazing patio and deck remodel.
