How to Achieve a Beautiful Yard Despite Dry Conditions
Long term changes in weather patterns and dry conditions have made ongoing water conservation efforts an ongoing priority, even though Aquarion and local town authorities continue to take measures to protect our water supply going forward.
Keep Your Yard Beautiful Amid Ongoing Water Conservation Efforts
We recommend watering landscape plants only when necessary, and where possible, install plants that require little or no supplemental irrigation once established. Drought tolerant landscaping, or “xeriscaping,” consists of using plants that require little, if any, watering once established and will reduce irrigation needs while maximizing the use of natural precipitation.
You can go one step further when thinking about new plantings by selecting native species, which are already adapted to our region’s soil and moisture conditions and therefore, need to be watered less often.
