Patio Design 101
There’s a hint of spring in the air which leads many of us to start thinking about sprucing up the outside of our home. When designing a patio, it’s important to consider location, materials, design, maintenance and budget. The patio’s location and shape may be dictated by your terrain, your proximity to neighbors and how the patio will flow in and out of your house.
When considering patio shape, some consider a square or rectangular patio to be more formal in appearance; the edges create the feeling of an outdoor “room,” which can easily integrate with other structures and outdoor kitchen areas. However, patios with curves can appear more artistic, work well with round firepits and also circular furniture styles, quite popular these days.
Once you understand your limitations and preferences on location and shape, our landscape architects are ready to help your dreams of a new patio come to life!
