Happy Mother’s Day and Irrigation Suggestions for Conservation
Celebrate Mom with the beauty of nature
This Mother’s Day, why not honor her with a bouquet that will last the whole summer long?
A custom arranged and installed container garden makes for a thoughtful gift that keeps giving. Our designer will pull together the perfect combination of her favorite flowers and colors in a beautiful planter that goes beautifully on her walkway, porch or patio. Every time she walks by, it will be a little reminder of your love for her! Spring is also a great season to plant a fruit or shade tree as a more permanent way of celebrating Mom – have her pick out a something special and the experts at Gerbert & Sons will take care of the planting so it is sure to last for many years to come.
May is also the perfect time to address tick control! Don’t wait till they’re a full grown problem, catch them while they are still in their developmental stage. We will apply our organic, environmentally safe and pet friendly tick control spray to address this yearly threat to our area.
Have Gerbert & Sons help make her Mother’s Day memorable.
A drip in the right place can make all the difference
If this summer’s heat and rain stays on trend for our area, we’ll once again see water usage being carefully regulated. Residents of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan and Stamford have been abiding by Aquarion’s irrigation schedule for overhead sprinklers, and for this year the list now includes Westport and Newtown. Greenwich also has a well water restriction in place, so having well-designed, up to date irrigation is even more important! We have a great deal of experience working with these conservation standards to create a highly effective program that keeps your property healthy and thriving. Gerbert & Sons designs and installs state-of-the-art irrigation systems or can provide you with upgrades to your current system- drip irrigation is an extremely efficient watering method that does not fall under Aquarion restrictions, and is a great addition to a traditional sprinkler system. Drip emitters are expertly installed above the root zones of plants, concentrating water precisely where it is needed, with much less waste and loss due to evaporation. By watering the roots and keeping the leaves dry, drip systems reduce the chance for mildew and other diseases, increasing the overall health of your plants, while conserving our precious resource of water.
